This movie was GREAT I loved it...

This for me was the best out of the three movies, Toby and the rest of the cast did a hell of a job, I hope there is more to come in the future.

it was a great movie. Big summer blockbuster! Probably my favorite of the three.

Anybody notice who the new enemy is going to be in part IV?? Did anybody see Lizard? yes, he's the professor that was studying the black 'goo'

Yes, Dr. Curt Connors is the Lizard. He lost an arm and was studying a way to regenerate human tissue, mimicking the way certain lizards do. His formula apparantly went overboard, causing him to transform for short periods into the Lizard.

Okay, since a few people have watched this now. Some things that bothered me. Semi-review.

HUGE SPOILERS!!!!! dont read if you havent watched the film....

First off, the whole dark Peter, dancing in the streets, ect...with a run time of 140 minutes. You would think they wouldnt have to have a 15 minute sequence devoted to showing him act like a fool. Some of that stuff could have been completely cut out, we could have got the point that the substance was taking him over by his actions against Harry and his demeanor. No need for a corny dance and piano sequence that reminded me of Anchorman. Also, one thing I didnt understand in part 2 or 3. Whats with the goofy neigbors? I mean, what does that add to the movie? Why is it there? Its just filler to blow up the running time?

Okay, on to the villians....

Sandman was AWESOME, but I mean.. again.. WTF? Lets have him in the middle of a huge field running away from cops, and then all of a sudden hes in the middle of some sceince experiment? I know, I know...its just a movie. Though, cant we think of a more creative way for him to become the Sandman. I mean, yeah that was convienient. It was a breathtaking scene, but what lead to it was mind numbingly bad.

Also, having him tied to the Uncle Ben murder is a little too much. I mean, it takes away a the most valuble point in the first movie. Wasnt Peter's ultimate decison to become the hero Spiderman because he thought he had caused the murder of his uncle by not stopping that thief? I mean, isnt it a little convienent, just for this movie, that we happen to find out that Flint Marko was involved when he escapes?

On to Venom. Topher Grace as Eddie Brock was awesome. Though Venom is suppose to be one of the most dominating villians from the comics. Though he doesnt even come into play until the last 30 minutes of this movie? In fact, they never even called him Venom. There was no development of that character. You would think he would get a one on one vs Spidy before the finale tag team main event, right? Instead, we see him being created. Then in the most hilarious, if not god awful scene in the movie...we seen Venom find Sandman in an alley somewhere. Vemon comes at Sandman, to which the Sandman replies " I DONT LIKE SPIDERMAN" or something like that. Then Venon says, team up with me and lets end Spiderman. And Sandmans like..."yeah okay".....what a great idea. Especally since in the end we find that Sandman isnt a bad guy after all, and he just floats away?? Rightttt.

Though the the worst thing to me, was the whole creepy butler confession or revelation to Harry. I mean.... COME ON!!!! Its been at least 2 or 3 years in Spidey time right? How come this guy just happens to say something at this very point? Why not save Harry and Spiderman some trouble and tell him as soon as it happened. Horrible writing, especially having Spiderman ask for Harrys help before the final scene. It could have been a huge suprise. Instead we all knew Spidey would be saved.

Finally , the whole Peter/Mary Jane/Harry love triangle, or attempt at soap opera drama. What is the purpose of the Mary Jane and Harry kiss? There no real resolution to it. We dont really understand how Mary Jane feels about Harry, why did she kiss him. Because he was there? The thing is, I feel theres no real resolution to the story. They are calling this a trilogy, but theres no real conclusion. It was a gloomy ending if you ask me. Nothing resloved, what happens to Sandmans daughter? No mention of Eddie Brock death as Venom? How does this all affect Mary Jane and Peter's relationship? Again, no conclusion....

Anyways, those are just some complaints. I still liked the movie. Just thought it needed more polish, more creative, thoughtout writing. Before they made the movie all going in thought it would be the last with this cast, and director Raimi. You would think they would have ended with a bang. Instead, the bang was somewhere halfway through the movie, and the rest of the way they were running on fumes.

I myself thought the film was a little choppy. Going from one thing to another, back to something else.
